Production method: hydration of ethylene oxide, is a side product of synthesis reaction of dimethyl carbonate in the polycarbonate production.
Application: national economy and exports, in the production of synthetic fibers, resins, solvents, as well as low-freezing and hydraulic fluids.
Packing, handling and storage:Ethylene glycol is filled into aluminum barrels as per GOST 21029, type I with the capacity of 110 and 275 dm3 or rust-resistant steel barrels as per GOST 26155 with the capacity of 110-250 dm3. The export packing shall comply with GOST 26319.
Marking shall conform to the UN recommendations on dangerous cargos transportation or rules of transportation applicable to related means of transport.
Barrels with ethylene glycol are shipped in roofed vehicles by all modes of transport (Carloads or small shipments), as well as in bulk in rail tank vessels with aluminum or rust-resistant steel barrels in accordance with rules of cargo transportation applicable to related means of transport. Barrels with ethylene glycol should be stored in hermetically sealed aluminum, rust-resistant or aluminum-clad steel containers.
Ethylene glycol is stored in barrels in covered unheated storage facilities. Storage of the superior quality product in carbon steel barrels is prohibited.
Barrels with ethylene glycol shall be stored vertically. Barrels stack height should not exceed 3 levels.
The guaranteed storage life of the superior quality ethylene glycol is one year, first quality is three years from the date of production.
